Facility Details: QUEOS, PREMIX, ECO

Organization / Localization: KIT
Facility Description: The QUEOS facility consists of the test vessel, the furnace and the valve system separating the two. The spheres are heated in an electric radiation furnace in an argon atmosphere. The PREMIX facility consists of a vertical cylindrical vessel with four venting pipes at the top. Inside the vessel there is a melt generator. This vessel is installed inside a large containment (FAUNA pressure vessel) to protect against explossions.
Test Identification: Liquid melt is simulated by a mixture of solid spheres. Three types of spheres with two different densities (zirconia and molybdenum)
