Facility Details: RECI

Organization / Localization: ASNR
Country: France
Facility Description: Ultrasonic aerosol generator atomises the aqueous solution of a water soluble iodide
Facility Status: Closed
Test Identification: RECI tests 1-25
SA-Related Topics / Phenomena: RECI programme comprised 25 small-scale experiments investigating iodide-to-iodine gas conversion of metal-oxides in the high temperature of operating PARs. The test section was a tube with or without a catalyst coupon representing PAR plate. The surrogate aerosol was CsI.
Measured Parameters: Particles concentration & size distribution measurements. Gaseous iodine analysis
Modelling: The gas temperature ranged from 400oC to 950 oC. The vertical test tube was 50 cm long with the first 14 cm being the heater section. The gas flow rate through the tube was 5 L/min (1 m/s). The aerosols were small with submicron MMD.
Simulation Code: ASTEC, MELCOR, and MAAP
Link to PIRT: WP-1.5 ST-33, ST-34
